Does your museum have collections that need to be inventoried or an object that needs to be condition reported and packed for shipment? Are you looking to expand your building to better accommodate collections? Do you have family heirlooms and need to know how to care for them yourself? Are you a corporation or a collector with works that need to be documented? Is there a group of volunteers or staff eager to help with a project after a little training?
If your institution has an upcoming project, Advanced Museum Services will guide you with planning, executing, and reaching your collections goals within the private and nonprofit spheres.
I have over 20 years of collections experience with strong emphasis on cataloging, inventories, records and database management, and long-range planning, serving both as a full-time staff member and as a private contractor. I have consulted with and provided training for organizations across Iowa on many aspects of collections care and registration. I have served on numerous state, regional, and national boards, and been a grant reviewer for state and federal programs. I am a field services consultant for the State Historical Society of Iowa and a peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums’ MAP and Accreditation programs.
With Advanced Museum Services, I am sharing my expertise with museums, galleries, private collectors, artists, corporations, and anyone with objects or art. I bring to my work a strong attention to detail, broad experience with a range of collections, and commitment to professional and ethical standards of the museum field. I love collections and the stories connected to them, and it is important to me to make sure both are protected, documented, and accessible.
I look forward to working with you on your project!
